Aeroscout B1-100 UAV Helicopter
The Scout B1-100 UAV Helicopter is a completely autonomous, unmanned aircraft system (UAS) by Aeroscout GmbH, a Swiss-based unmanned aerial vehicle developer. This UAS is equipped with an air-cooled 100ccm gasoline engine and provides a payload capacity of up to 30kg (18kg standard). The Scout’s standard configuration includes the flight control system wePilot1000, redundant FCS batteries, an onboard electric starter, and a 10 liter fuel tank. This configuration allows integrating additional 18kg of a customized payload unit. The flight endurance with full payload is 1.5 hours. (Flight tests at approximately 500 meters above sea level).
Features
- Air-cooled gasoline aircraft engine with electric starter onboard
- Easy transportability and maintainability through modularity
- Sealed gear boxes and electronics
- Highly reliable mechanical design
- Integrated, autonomous flight control system (FCS)
- (D)GPS/INS integrated navigation system
- Flexible payload options
- Smoothly running engine and optimal vibration isolation of the payload
Industrial Unmanned Helicopter
General
The Scout B1-100 is an autonomous industrial unmanned helicopter developed for professional airborne applications such as aerial mapping, airborne broadcasting, search and rescue, surveillance and inspection as well as law enforcement.
Features
The Scout B1-100 provides easy transportability and maintainability through system modularity, flexible payload options, and a smooth and easy-to-start 100ccm gasoline engine.
Operation
The helicopter can either be flown in conventional manual mode with high maneuverability or can be operated with its integrated INS/GPS automated flight control system. This flight control system allows joystick (velocity) mode as well as GPS waypoint (position) mode.
Payload
The helicopter provides a payload capacity of up to 30 kg (including 10 liter of fuel standard, 4 kg flight control system) with an empty weight about 45 kg (MTOW 75kg, depending on flight altitude above mean sea level).
Safety
The helicopter has been developed under severe safety policies and features high engine power reserve capacities, mechanic robustness (multiple load excess), and environmental robustness against spray water.
Ground Control Station
General
The Aeroscout Ground Control Station (GCS) provides all capabilities to operate the Scout B1-100 UAV helicopter. This includes mission planning, mission control, display of UAV status information, and UAV performance monitoring.
Features
The Aeroscout GCS features include easy transportability required for outdoor operations, a single source power supply (110 - 220V), two sunlight readable displays, one touch screen for main UAV commands selection, the computer display or video display mode, a water-resistant keyboard, and two intelligent joysticks. The GCS also provides stabilized voltages for field operation (e.g., for system startup or for the GCS data link modules).
Operation
The Aeroscout GCS allows both assisted flight mode (velocity control by joystick input) and fully autonomous mode (GPS waypoints). The ruggedized computer keyboard allows all mission planning and modifications on the field. In addition, several USB ports are available for mission download or data upload. The main screen shows all UAV status information, while the second touch screen allows the selection of major UAV commands such as take-off, landing, or engine shutdown.
